Fishing Rules

FishTo help us manage our lakes, and for the health and safety of both your fellow fishermen and yourselves, we would appreciate it if you could adhere to the following general Fishing rules:

  • Fishing permits (‘tickets’) are to be purchased prior to fishing from reception. A rod license is required for anyone over 12 or over. One ‘ticket’ per person allows you two rods per adult or one rod per child.
  • Should you have a car with you, please park in the designating gravel parking areas at the top of the ‘Dogwalk’ field (see park map).
  • Dogs are allowed around the lakes if kept under control. Please ensure you remove all fouling.
  • Please fish from pegs where possible and fish in front of you. Reservation of pegs is prohibited. No fishing between pegs.
  • No wading into lakes.
  • Barbless hooks to be used at all times - NO EXCEPTIONS. (Micro barb hooks are not barb less). No trebles.
  • Disintegrating ground bait is to be used ONLY. Please DO NOT use hemp, catmeat, paste, trout pellets or any nuts & pulses.
  • Landing nets and unhooking mats MUST be dipped in the solution provided and rinsed before fishing. This is to prevent the spread of parasites and disease.
  • NO retaining fish in Keep Nets or Sacks in any of the lakes.
  • We reserve the right to inspect all tackle used at anytime. You will be asked to pack away any we consider to be unsuitable.
  • Please return all fish to the lakes as soon as possible, causing minimum distress.
  • Night Fishing is STRICTLY FORBIDDEN. Dawn and Dusk or 9.30pm (which ever comes first) is acceptable
  • Anyone found misusing the life preserving equipment will be asked to leave the park immediately - with no refund!
  • Please remove all litter from the pegs and lake area. Discarded bait, etc around the swim encourages vermin. Please do not dispose of unused maggots in the dustbins.
  • Please do not damage the trees or shrubs around the lakes and treat all other Anglers with respect.
  • Any problems regarding the lakes and fish are to be reported to reception as soon as possible.
  • No responsibility will be accepted for loss, damage or injury however caused.

Remember - The lakes are very deep in places and all children must be supervised by someone over the age of 18 years. Please be vigilant for all children’s safety.

If you disregard these rules you will be asked to leave.
